Screens VNC - Control your computer remotely App Reviews

Love it!

Great app! Had some trouble connecting but I found all the answers in the knowledge base. Thanks.

Love this app

This just became my new vnc app, it looks good, it works good and seems a bit more tailored to being productive than the other apps Ive tried.

Finally, a great VNC app!

I bought this for 50% off on Black Friday. After installing it on my iPad and turning on screen sharing on my Mac (running Mountain Lion), its worked flawlessly. $9.99 is a little higher than Im used to paying for an app but Im happy I did.

Cant Even Connect

I havent even been able to connect to Screens outside my apartment, and not I cant connect at all. Screens has been pretty unreliable, and their support hasnt helped much.

Best VNC

I wish they would bring back the older wooden UI, but this is the best VNC to date.

I wanted this app to work sooooo bad!

1 star for design, 1 star for support. Im being generous since it doesnt work, not for me anyway. If you cant load their Connect software onto computer (due to lacking system requirements) I wouldnt buy app if I were you even though they have work- around which I followed to the word. Spent hours&hours, days&days on it (support was receptive to a point - second star). Ported router, etc, etc. Could get on locally, not remotely. Nope. Flushed $20.

Good, not great App

I have been using this app for quite some time. I like several things about this app including easy setup, the fully functional keypad, and responsiveness. My only problem is when I open the app and sync with my screen, if I do not keep the app open on my iPad the screens automatically disconnect after 5 minutes. I am constantly syncing and re-syncing my screens during the course of an hour that its annoying. This is nitpicking though and I would recommend this app to anyone.

SCREENS VCN

i dl TIGHTVNC..WHEN OPENING IT ASKS FOR AN AUTHENTICATION CODE. I did not receive one. I have free non commercial edition. I have sent email to TIGHT site asking for code. The app is complex for my 76 years old understanding. I want to use iPad for flight sim controls so need free easy communication between iPad 3 and my PC. Any advice welcome.

By far the best

Ive tried at least 5 diff paid screen sharing apps and this is by far the best for both hardcore remote working or just from the couch screen surfing.

Terrible App

The single worst product that I have purchased for my iPad. Easy to set up but incredibly buggy. Have to hard quit and restart Screens every 60 seconds to regain functionality. Now I have to start the process of begging Apple to give me my money back. I looked up how to get a refund on Gizmodo. Here is what they have to say "Theres something like a bazillion apps in the App Store. Do you know what that means? A lot of craptaculer apps that should never have been put on your iPhone (iPad)."

Does what I need it to do!

I use this to control my Mac Mini which I use as a HTPC. Works great to be able to sit in my chair and use this as an advanced remote control. Setup was easy and intuitive. No problems so far.

Not Happy at All

Sometimes screens will connect quickly, function well, and do everything the spec list says it will. However, about a forth of the time screens will constantly disconnect in the middle of a session, app will freeze up forcing me to Force Quit it (which then, for some reason, adds 5 new blank connections to my connection list), or it will connect only to disconnect literally 1 second later. These issues happen randomly across several machines on many different networks. I love screens when it works, but its so unreliable that I cant use it for anything mission critical.

Very nice but... Copy-Paste?!

No ability to copy and paste from iPhone to Mac or back. Huge deficiency.

Disappointing

Was supposed to be WAY simple to connect, but never got t to work OUTSIDE of WiFi. Also, methods of control / interface of touch interface I found to be clunky and non-intuitive. I MUCH prefer and recommend iTeleport. MANY benefits over this app. Just check it out and you will see the differences immediately.

Works well and is polished

Just tried it and it works really well to control my Mac. I especially like how the Mac controls are mapped to the touch based UI on iOS.

Poor Choice of Control

First of all, this is a very pretty app. However the ONLY method for interfacing with your computer is tapping (i.e., no mouse movement). This works well for large icons like folders, but trying to tap tiny buttons like the close/minimize/zoom (red/yellow/green) window buttons on OS X means first having to zoom WAAAY in to make the targets big enough to tap. Also, since my dock has magnification turned on, tapping on the icon I want means the icon has zoomed and moved left or right, so the tap registers on the icon next to it. In sum, control with this app becomes overly complicated/useless. Compare this app to iTeleport, which is not as pretty (although its still nice looking), but gives you the choice for mouse control (or tapping as Screens does), which means you can hit small targets. If they would add mouse support, I would probably rate this app 5 stars. This company even makes an app that functions as a trackpad, so they can do it! Luckily, I only paid $10 instead of the normal $20, but I will continue to use iTeleport, so this was a waste of money even at $10.

serious business tool - top notch engineering

This is a deluxe, powerful, configurable and reliable VNC app. Uses touch and gestures to make remote computing a pleasure on iOS. great value, excellent tool, developer continues to improve the product

Not bad but lacking some features

This is not a bad screen sharing client for iOS. You can log in to other computers from here. However, dont be fooled by the rather pricey cost here. This is a nice looking but rather vanilla viewer. It has some number of nice pad gestures but doesnt go too far. Youll be used to those amazing Mac touch pad and iPhone gestures from Apple that youd love Screens to implement too. For example zooming and scrolling is not always quite as intuitive as youd want it. But its still pretty nice. However, connectivity is a bit of an issue. For example, Screens doesnt support screen sharing to Apple Remote Desktop connections. On other occasions it also just sometimes wouldnt connect without apparent reason and in uncluttered local networks. So Id say this would be a nice $2 deal but it doesnt sound like a heavy duty $20 app.

Hiya

Best $20 I spent. Get it. Mac mini integrated into my HTS. Dont need TV as monitor. Easy set works great. Unbiased

Doesnt work

Ive had Screens for nearly a year, and its never worked properly. I tried to follow the instructions (which were for an outdated version of OS X the last time I looked), but they didnt help. Maybe Screens is awesome if you are a server admin. For a plain old power user like me, its as good as junk.
